About Krayon Kids

Krayon Kids Musical Theatre Company was created in 1993 as an affordable option for children to learn and participate in live theater. Over the years, it has developed into an internationally acclaimed performing arts organization that showcases the various talents of local children in an annual original production.

What do we do

Annual Fall Production: Each November we roll out our annual show, always a world premiere production featuring over 60 talented children ranging in age from 3-18. Click here to learn more.

Krayon Kids Summer Camp: Each summer the Krayon Kids organization hosts a week-long summer camp packed with opportunities for children of all experience-levels to learn, improve and have fun acting, singing, and dancing. The camp also provides opportunities to explore activities such as art, instruments, accents & dialects, shakespeare, musical play labs, stage make-up, improv, and script writing. Travel Troupe: Formed in 1996, The Krayon Kids Elite Travel Troupe performs a one-hour trunk-show, a style popularized in the days of Vaudeville. The Troupe primarily consists of the older, more experienced cast members and focuses on their singing, dancing and artistic talents. They have been fortunate to perform at many different venues in the Pacific Northwest, have traveled to Hawaii and participated in International Festivals in both Japan and Germany. Our mission

The goal of Krayon Kids Musical Theatre Company is to sustain a self-sufficient children's musical theater, offering interested children an opportunity to participate in original musical productions that feature a wide variety of performance disciplines. The company also provides a quality program for children to view and be introduced to musical theater.

The Company's objectives are three-fold:

To thrive as one of the few performing arts companies comprised entirely of children. The company has expanded beyond acting to include dance varieties, singing, puppetry, musical styles, comedy & character acting.
To reach out into our community for financial support to help cover production costs. Some of the items the company must budget for include costuming, experience in dance with the latest choreography, and instructional vocal and drama lessons with little or no cost to the participant.
To produce the most professional children's musical theater possible. Our focus is on children as the performers and the audience. It is our intention that each original production will offer a touch of old-fashioned family values, yet be relevant to the current problems and issues of today.

How to become a Krayon Kid

So, do you want to be a Krayon Kid? As you'll see from our production, our cast is packed with multi-talented children. They sing, dance, and act. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to be a stage performer. Krayon Kids also requires the involvement of the parents of each cast member, as we are a totally volunteer-staffed organization.
